CVX 3.0beta is riddled with bugs, which are very unlikely to ever be fixed. Do not use it. if it is installed, remove all CVX directories from the MATLAB path, then install CVX 2.2 in a new MATLAB session.
Use the latest build of CVX 2.2, which can be downloaded at Download CVX | CVX Research, Inc.
