Actually I have installed CVX as well as an academic license on MATLAB R2018a without any problem. But one of my friends faced to some errors for installing CVX and academic license on MATLAB R2013b.
Q: I want to know if there is any limitation for installing CVX on different versions of MATLAB. Is CVX only installed on certain versions of MATLAB?
From the manual “We generally aim to support versions of MATLAB that are no more than five years old. On the Mac, however, the window is shorter due to operating system changes that necessitate the use of even newer versions of MATLAB. In generally, we strongly recommend that you use the latest version of MATLAB that you can obtain.” R2013 is really old, never mind CVX, you may have a problem installing some solvers.
